2020 \
March-August 2020: The period of COVID-19 quarantine that we will all remember and tell our grandchildren about, when people were obliged to stay home, without income and various problems. A never- before- experience! Some agencies were forced to close and restrict their activities. Others, although closed, worked 24 hour a day to help their fellow citizens, finding ways to solve problems, not just sitting around, talking about them. At Breath of H.O.P.E., in support of dozens of our fellowmen, we packed and delivered provisions to those in need, contacted the elderly on a daily basis, to cover their medical and other needs, always following safety regulations. Our suppliers had vanished. We were able to use only what was in our storeroom, and when these were exhausted other co-operating agencies like Desmos arrived with supplies that they had managed to coax out of donors and had arranged to deliver where the need was greatest. They worked tirelessly, smiling behind their masks, forgetting their own problems, ignoring the dangers, to bring us what we needed to pass on to our families. Our grateful thanks to Desmos and Maria Markoudi, who we have worked with for years, also to Coca Cola, 3E, Yiotis, Agrino, Papadopouou S.A. biscuits, Nestle, Sklavenitis, and Omonia Trans, all united for the benefit of many. We thank you!
